"On Scatterbrain, McIntire addresses the ups and downs of a working comic's life. The bulk of the album is all laughs -- solid material on everything from having kids to the war on terror, killer stuff from one of Boston's most reliable comedy veterans -- but it's the bonus track, the one labeled "Nagasaki," that's getting the most attention. The nearly half-hour track is nothing short of a complete hell gig..."

Nick Zaino
The Boston Globe

"If Tim set out to reveal more about himself and be vulnerable on his new CD, Scatterbrain, he succeeded. He pulls off the delicate trick of turning inward without losing his persona. He is still The Reverend. Now, rather than pointing the finger at others, he's pointing it at himself. Instead of looking at obscure news stories and making them universal, he takes something universal, the birth of a child, and makes it his...It's smart and fearless. Mr. Hicks, this is Mr. Cosby."

Cherry Poppin'

I consummate my love affair with the Red Sox today at 2:00, when thanks to the kindness of an old friend, I will be at Fenway Park for the very first time ever watching Curt Schilling rape the MFY. I'll snap some pix with my phone and post them to my picture blog.

I'm quite literally quivering with anticipation.

Vanity Post

Self-tooting horn alert!

I am quoted in today's Boston Globe article about Lenny Bruce, written by Nick Zaino, the best friend the Boston comedy scene ever had.

Max Silvestri

Max Silvestri, in addition to being a great comic, is a very patient person. He never interrupted me after I accosted him over IM because I had news I just had to tell someone.

After about six quick IM blasts, I realized that maybe a 21-year old guy that will have a network writing job by the time he's 23 didn't want to hear about my new lawn mower.

I am the ghost of comedy future...

T-Shirt Infamy

So TC Cheever, whilst recuperating from having organs yanked out of his body and apparently gobbling pain pills, was inspired by my last post, and has made t-shirts available.

The internet is a very weird place.

Confidential

To those with whom I was hanging out post-shows last night:

Fuck you, you single, childless, sleeping-in motherfuckers.

Doubling Up; Vault Action

Shows this weekend:

Saturday, 8:00 pm -- Headlining the Comedy Studio. Immediately following my set, I will be scooting over to Regattabar at the Charles to "headline" (ie, eat up time while the drunk judges figure out their scores) the Cambridge Idol show.

Sunday, 9:00 pm -- I'll be hosting the open mike at Dick Doherty's Comedy Vault. I don't do this show often, but a few times ago, I made a new comic cry. I'm not proud of that, but it sure makes me seem hip and edgy.
