Scatterbrain in the news and on the web!
Nick Zaino in the Boston Globe:
Tim McIntire launches his new CD, ''Scatterbrain," tonight at the Comedy Studio. The disc is a mix of old favorites and new material, personal and sometimes political. McIntire speaks of his pride fathering an 11-pound newborn and his fear of Donald Rumsfeld. He even takes on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. . . Sean McCarthy in the Boston Herald:
To err is human. To fool is humorous, if done properly.
Let us honor April Fools by celebrating them. Meet six uniquely witty, creative, out-of-left-field, gut-busting comedians who make the Boston comedy scene stand out...
ANYTIME, ANYPLACE FOOL: Tim McIntire, 36, Medford
His foolishness: McIntire started performing stand-up comedy in Colorado 13 years ago; in 1993 he hosted a Sam Kinison tribute in Oklahoma with the Outlaws of Comedy. "It was me, Jimmy Shubert and Carl LaBove. It was madness." His former weekly show, "Thursday Night Fights," tore up the Comedy Studio in the late 1990s. His new CD, ScatterBrain, debuts today...
Foolosophy: "The more real or honest, the more truly funny it is. I think it?s riskier if it?s real."
My main man, Benari Poulten:
Some of the smartest, funniest, most honest comedy you'll hear, this CD exemplifies what it is that Tim does best: make people laugh. And, to make it extra-special , Tim takes you behind the laughs in a terrifyingly brutal bonus track, where, in unedited real time, you can hear exactly what it's like when a comic tanks at a hell gig.
